Emily and Jarvis Jelen graduated in the Spring of 2009 from Liberty University. Emily graduated with a B.S. in Worship and Music Ministry, and Jarvis with a B.S. in Kinesiology. They were hired to work for the Calabar Foundation, on the Sifunda Kunye project based in South Africa in December of 2009. They were married in March of 2010, and arrived in South Africa in May.

Their work thus far has consisted of involvement mainly at St. Matthew's High School and Richard Varha High School, but is quickly expanding. Jarvis is currently involved in the set-up of computer labs at Toise High School, ZK Matthew's High School, and Xolani High School.

Both Emily and Jarvis are involved with extra-curriculars at St. Matthew's High School, which range from athletics to the facilitation of the President's Award program.



Jason Bezuidenhout
Lab Facilitator

Jason Bezuidenhout was born and raised in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He did his primary schooling at George Randell Primary and High at George Randell High School. During the school holidays he attended CCS IT Training College, where he studied computers and after Matric, he attended Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. There he studied TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

He started working with Sifunde Kunye as a Lab Facilitator in July 2010.  He's now at Xolani High School.
